The girl knows what she likes

My mom loves to tell the stories of me, as young as three, rejecting outfits and already developing a very distinct sense of style.  One of her favorite stories involves me as a toddler in a crib stretching my arms out in front of me and saying my nightgown sleeves were too short, just so I could pick out some night time attire that was a little more my style.  Which brings me to my own little girl – I believe things are coming full circle.

As much as I love buying clothes for myself, my son and my husband – there is nothing I love more than buying clothes for my daughter.  And, as much as I want her to develop her own identity and express her own creativity through her clothing and accessories – sometimes I just want her to let me play dress up since she is the cutest little girl I know.  So imagine my surprise when she …gasp… didn’t veto any item of the outfit I laid on her bed this morning.  Usually, I know better and I lay out at least two options (and we still end up in the closet for more options).  Also, I should mention, she’s 5.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue - Who says it's just for brides!
